SITAVarsity Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)



SITAVarsity is SITA's eLearning platform for online training and development. It will provide online courses for corporate training and awareness and third party training in various areas. It will also enable SITAzens to share information.


SITAVarsity will allow SITA to more cost effectively train and develop SITAzens.


We do not have a tool / system for which provides this functionality.


SITA staff supporting DOD have kiosks provided for this purpose. Facilities staff (like canteen staff) have kiosks provided for this purpose. SITA staff who are based on client sites must apply for the VPNC / VPNRA access in order to access the SITA network.


The start date for the Fraud Awareness Training will be the 6th August 2018


The training must be completed by the 31st August 2018


The fraud awareness training is part of SITA's Fraud Prevention and Awareness Strategy. It is compulsory for all SITAzens and it is a compliance target on the Corporate Balance Scorecard. Compliance record keeping will be automated and monitored and progress will be continuously tracked and reported on a weekly basis.

To use SITAVarsity, visit website using the following address: https://sitavarsity.sita.co.za To log into the online training, click on the Login button on the top right of the navigation bar. Your username and a temporary password will be emailed to you, and you will be required to change your password on the first login.


Your username and password will be emailed to your SITA email address.

SITAVarsity will be accessible through the SITAREMOTE VPN using VPNC. If you do not have a SITA VPNC account, you can apply for an account by visiting the OSIS website and completing the online application available at: http://www.osis.gov.za/vpnc/vpnc-app1.htm


Currently, you cannot directly access SITAVarsity from networks outside of SITA, such as SAPS, DoD, or the internet. You either need to be on the SITA network, or you need to use VPNC/VPNR access to remotely connect to SITAVarsity.


If you cannot log into SITAVarsity, you can log a call with SITA’s ITSM help desk by phoning 0800 11 55 75, or by sending an email to sitasc@sita.co.za and they will assist you. Before logging a call, check that your network access is working and that you are on the SITA network.

You should have received an email from SITAVarsity with your login details. An email will be sent to your SITA email address from sitavarsity@sita.co.za with your login details. Check your junk mail folder. If you never received any email, you can log a call with SITA’s ITSM help desk by phoning 0800 11 55 75, or by sending an email to sitasc@sita.co.za and they will assist you.


If you are interrupted during the fraud awareness training, just simply log off and back on and it will resume where you left off. If you are having problems reconnecting or logging in, you can log a call with SITA’s ITSM help desk by phoning 0800 11 55 75, or by sending an email to sitasc@sita.co.za and they will assist you.


Sometimes, due to network load, the performance may drop. Try waiting for the option to become available. If that doesn't work, try exiting the course and logging out of SITAVarsity. Log back in and see if you can continue. If not, you can log a call with SITA’s ITSM help desk by phoning 0800 11 55 75, or by sending an email to sitasc@sita.co.za and they will assist you.


The course should continue from where you left off.

Yes, SITAVarsity is accessible from a smartphone, but you need to be connected to the SITA network. If you are using your phone on the SITA network, please be aware of any policies regarding the use of your devices on the network


If your username and password is not working, you can click on the "Forgotten your username or password?" link to have a temporary password emailed to your SITA email address. Follow the instructions in the email. If you still cannot log in, please log a call by phoning 0800 11 55 75, or by sending an email to sitasc@sita.co.za and they will assist you.


The only way to access SITAVarsity remotely, is to use VPNC, so as long as you have an internet connection and VPNC access to SITA, you will be able to access SITAVarsity.

If you are able to login but there are no courses available, or you cannot see the course you require, please log a call with the SITA helpdesk so that we can ensure that you are correctly enrolled. please log a call by phoning 0800 11 55 75, or by sending an email to sitasc@sita.co.za and they will assist you.
